"I'll wait my turn
To tear inside you
Watch you burn
I'll wait my turn
I'll wait my turn"
- Placebo, Broken Promise

Regret is a bittersweet thing. A poison of the soul, worse than hate, worse than rejceted love. Yet the pain of it scraping across your heart like razor nails is such a delicious agony. So like good little masochistic puppets we keep regretting the things we've done, or worse ... the things we never did.

That's an insanely beautiful texture and you've put it to perfect use. I love the harsh shadows. I don't play well in shadows, so I always admire people who can. :)

Thanks.

Shadows aren't that hard if you think of it as painting with light. I have problems the other way, I can't seem to be able to create low contrast images. Don't know what that says about me.

It's says that you've got a good eye. ;) And that's a very interesting way to look at things. I'll have to keep that in the forefront of my thoughts for the next image!

I think the only thing that takes me out of this piece is that the blood looks more like paint than blood, and the drips look weird. With real blood you would be able to see it dripping from his arm all the way from the top. Right now the blood doesn't look transparent enough either. Try to make it spottier, gloppier and thicker looking on his arm, turning to almost black on his hand where it's the thickest.

I'm only saying all this because the rest of the piece is so breathtaking!!!! i LOVE it!!!! :D :iconretardiloveitplz: Here, have a llama: :llama:

Amazing. The lighting must have taken forever but the atmosphere was worth it. The pose is perfect. Brava.

Thanks, the light didn't take that long. Based it of Nike's Shiny 4, added a kicker and a spot to bring out some detail and moved about on the originals a bit. Then it was a simple matter of bringing up the contrast in photoshop.

The pose on the otherhand was a dog of the female persuasion, so thanks.

A very powerful work. I don't think the blue tone needs toning down, it's an important balance to the red - while also enhancing the tension - if that's logically possible ;) In general, I am not a big fans of tattoos, but here they not only work well, but are (visually) necessary - tying together the dark lower part and the brighter body, which revels in interesting play of light. The fact that you can't see the guy's eye supports the idea (which you bring up in your description), that the picture is about a universal principle / state of mind, not a specific person.
